How much is the cost to charter a yacht?
The charter rate is based on a week basis. It covers the charter of the yacht and equipment as well as the crew. The yacht and the marine equipment are fully insured. Further operating expenses are payable by the charterer.
Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA)
The Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA) is due at the time of the final charter payment. Under MYBA Terms, this sum is usually equivalent to 25% of the total charter fee, in some cases it might be 30%. The APA covers the operating expenses of a charter such as, fuel, provisions, drinks, port fees, and ad hoc incidentals. The APA will be given to the captain before the start of the charter. He will ensure that the yacht is fully fueled and provisioned when you embark. Any APA not used will be returned to you at the end of the charter as you leave. On the other hand, if expenses exceed the APA (maybe excessive cruising so high fuel costs, requests of rare liquors, etc.) you will be expected to reimburse the yacht as you leave the charter. This is rare but you need to be aware of this possible expense.

VAT
Should you embark within European Union waters (EU) state VAT will apply. This may also apply to some Caribbean islands. As these rules constantly change, we would advise to speak to one of our charter brokers to make sure which VAT rules apply to your charter.
